Suri Cruise makes debut in Vanity Fair

Vanity Fair magazine’s Suri issue hit newsstands in the US today, carrying world-exclusive pictures of baby Suri and her beaming parents. A bright blue-eyed girl with her father’s eyes and mother’s lips looks eager to greet the world.

On her inaugural broadcast as a CBS anchor, Katie Couric revealed the first photos of Suri Cruise, from the new issue of Vanity Fair.

Katie Holmes said the gossip “eats away at me.”

“It’s been heartbreaking,” Holmes said about the stories circulating about her family. “Some of the crap that’s out there, the stuff that’s said about my parents and my siblings. It’s really frustrating the amount of (bleep) that’s out there. And the stuff they say about Suri?! You shouldn’t say that about us, and you can’t say that about my child.” Tabloids implied that Katie’s father did not hit it off with Tom.

“I was overjoyed in being pregnant,” she said, “and then had to withstand ridicule about my pregnancy when it was the most normal, non-controversial thing imaginable.”

Of speculation in the press, Holmes says: “All those things were invented.”

The “Batman Returns” actress said she and her husband purchased an in-house sonogram because they were constantly followed by paparazzi. As a result, her doctor had to make house calls.

”The sonogram was for his use!” she says.

As for who Suri looks like, Cruise says “she has Kate’s lips and eyes,” while Holmes insists “she has Tom’s eyes. I think she looks like Tom.”

Born on April 18, Suri has never been seen by the public, until today.
